Our client is the Houston office of a leading, 400+ employee consulting engineering and program management firm.
As the Resident Engineer, you will be a senior member of the Project Management Team for major Texas highway construction projects while serving as the liaison between the contractor and the consultant engineering and inspection teams. You will be responsible for the following: ensure Project Management Plan (PMP) execution; monitor overall construction progress and compliance with the HCTRA Specifications; review project plans, specifications and contract documents; identify constructability issues; lead Contractor Progress Meeting and report progress at Program Management Meetings; report on overall project progress, costs, change order status, and contingencies; review and approve payments, bids, and RFI submissions; sign and seal revisions made to the project plans; review construction issues, recommend solutions and more.
Key Resident Engineer qualifications:
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas (TBPE)
- Several years of Texas highway construction management experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
