As the Civil Engineer-EIT you will assist experienced Project Engineers / PEs by providing engineering design support in a team environment that includes the preparation of feasibility studies, and the design of water, sanitary and storm sewer, paving, and detention facilities.
You will be responsible for the application of standard techniques, procedures, and design criteria in carrying out routine engineering tasks. Other civil engineering duties will include the preparation and production of project reports, plans, specifications and estimates. You will also participate in a variety of project aspects from client meetings, to design/study development to site visits. Your design software will include AutoCAD Civil 3D, HEC-HMS, StormCAD and/or other modeling software.
Key Civil Engineer-EIT candidate requirements:
- Some post-graduation infrastructure or public works projects design experience with a Texas consulting engineering firm
- Certification as an Engineer-in-Training in Texas (TBPE)
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (ABET accredited)
- Strong oral and written communication skills
