This GANE client, the west Houston Public Works Practice of one of the top civil consulting engineering firms in Texas, offers a variety of project assignments and professional mentoring while you prepare for your PE exam.
As the Civil EIT-Public Works you will assist Project Engineers / PEs by providing engineering design support (e.g., engineering reports, design calculations, quantity and cost estimates) for municipal water, wastewater, lift stations, hydraulics, hydrology, and related public works and municipal design projects. You will be responsible for the application of standard techniques, procedures, and design criteria in carrying out routine engineering tasks. Other civil engineering duties will include the preparation and production of project reports, plans, specifications and estimates. You will also participate in a variety of project aspects from client meetings, to design/study development to site visits.
Key Civil EIT-Public Works candidate requirements:
- A few years of post-graduation infrastructure, public works, or municipal projects design experience with a U.S. consulting engineering firm
- Current certification as an Engineer-in-Training in Texas (TBPE)
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (ABET accredited)
Additional qualifications include: strong oral and written communication skills; knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Microsoft Office experience.
